FIRST LOOK! Liberty of London for Target

After a stellar collaboration with MAC, Liberty of London is spreading their flower power to another retail giant: Target. The line, which hits stores this Sunday, March 14th, is full of easy, printed minis and maxis, with patterns ranging from paisley to…you guessed it…floral.

Even the home items (a bike!) and menswear (love those ties and boxers!) have fun, cheeky prints that will add some life to your Spring wardrobe.

The sweeping floral maxidresses and breezy jumpsuits just scream Summer getaway. Throw on some flats, grab a pair of shades and you’re good to go.

The trench and sheath give you a chic way to work florals for day. And, like a good London brand, the line offers a stylish pair of rain boots and umbrella for those rare summer storms.

Check out all the looks below and tell me what you’re scooping up when it hits stores Sunday.

FIRST LOOK! Jean Paul Gaultier for Target

Hey Glamazons!

Remember in October when we announced the coming of Jean Paul Gaultier’s line for Target? Well, the lookbook has hit the web and though I’m still partial to Zac Posen’s line, there’s something about these edgy designs that blows my mind. In true Jean Paul Gaultier fashion, the affordable pieces blend high fashion and street culture seamlessly.
Even the more classic looks, like that amazing trench coat, have a chic, urban edge that make them utterly cool. And when it’s time to strut down the catwalk, like Jourdan Dunn in the amazing Jean Paul Gaultier Spring 2010 look, turn to show-stopping pieces like a pair of tattooed tights and tanks with eye-popping graphics (Yes, literally. An eye graces the front of the shirt).
The tattoo prints aren’t my favorite and can easily go ugg when worn the wrong way (Ex: Ed Hardy) but I’m in love with the fit of that red and white printed belted sheath with a nautical neckline. The look is so trendy but the silhouette is timeless. Perfect match. AND the tough-luxe combo of the floral dress and white studded belt is just calling my name!
Check out images from the Lookbook and tell me what you’ve got your eye on when the pieces, which retail from $18-$200, hit stores on March 7th.

FIRST LOOK! Zac Posen for Target

Hey Glamazons,
When I announced Zac Posen’s collaboration with Target in November, I knew the collection would be remarkable—but with a beautiful printed gown, a bevy of cocktail dresses, a suit and even some shimmery swimwear, Zac went beyond my highest expectations. Seriously. It’s so beautiful I would sacrifice my light bill to buy everything in the collection. And they’re practically giving the clothes away for prices like $45; it’s unbelievable.
Okay, I know I’m biased when it comes to Zac (I will go on forever about his beautiful Fall 2009 show that my boss gave me her ticket to), but the attention to detail is exquisite in this collection! The uberchic designs, the immaculate lines, the ladylike silhouettes (it will fit your body perfectly), the charming prints, the sexy lipstick red color?? This collection is a must-get. Glamazon stamp of Approval all the way!

Behold the beautiful pieces below and tell us what you have to have when it’s in stores from April 20th to May 30th.

FIRST LOOK! Sonia Rykiel pour H&M Knitwear

Hey Glamazons!

Last month when we covered the launch of Sonia Rykiel pour H&M lingerie line and the spectacular fashion show, we alluded to the knitwear collection for women and girls (1.5-8 years old) that would debut soon after. Well, the images from the knitwear line are finally here and the collection has accomplished the impossible by making cozy knits fun, energetic and sexy.

Take a look at the collection below which fuses 80’s-esque loud and vivid color with relaxed, casual silhouettes like leggings and oversized sweaters.

I love the collection’s fun, youthful energy and girly accessories like those adorable crystal-studded bourets. Very young, Parisian chic.

Check it out and tell me what you’ve got your eye on to pick up when it hit stores February 20. I love those slouchy overalls and the contrast of the off-the-shoulder sweater. Think I’ll get that for myself and my 3-year old goddaughter/diva in training. We need that to live!

NEW!! Vivienne Westwood Teams up with Lee Jeans

Hey Glamazons!

Not many designers can take Lee Jeans, the conservative, classic brand of denim, and transform it with metallic, bondage-style and lace flourishes. But Vivienne Westwood, who is collaborating with Lee for the Vivienne Westwood Anglomania and Lee collection, is not your average designer.
Since 1970, Westwood has been a legend among the punk-rock set for her unique interpretation of youth and urban culture. (You also may recognize her designs from the Sex and the City movie; she was the genius behind Carrie’s gorgeous wedding gown). Now the street crowd that inspired the designer can buy her work with Westwood’s new affordable collection with Lee, which ranges from $128 to $320 (8o pounds to 200 pounds).
The collaborative collection will feature four styles of jeans for men and five for women, including microshorts and skinny jeans, as well as bondage, metallic and lace denim, via The line will be available at Vivienne Westwood boutiques in the coming year.
Super exciting!! I have to get my hands on those microshorts for Spring. And did I mention the lace jeans will feature an all-over print inspired by one of her gowns? Amazing! Glamazons, what do you think of the collaboration? Will you shop the collection when it launches next year?

Introducing…Cynthia Rowley for Roxy

Hey Glamazons,
Just in time for Spring…and the much-needed trip I’m planning to Miami, Cynthia Rowley is launching a beach-ready collection for Roxy.
And the purveyor of Hampton chic, Cynthia Rowley, and Hang-Ten staple, Roxy, couldn’t be a better fit! Cynthia Rowley had this to say about the new collaboration: “The most important thing as a designer is to tell a story, and everything we do contributes to the story. This is an authentic and genuine expression of that, as surfing is something I love to do.”
Perfect for ladies who love to go surfing in style, the collection features swimwear, sandals, denim, wetsuits and even pencil skirts that are as affordable as they are chic (the long-sleeved bodysuit will only run you $89!).
The collaboration will run over the next three years and launches in March 2010 at Barney’s New York and Collette in Paris. Items will be available for pre-order in January at the Cynthia Rowley online shop. Check out the pieces below:

I especially love Cynthia Rowley’s use of colorblocking and cut-outs; it’s just so modern and vibrant, yet wearable at the same time. True to form, Rowley captures the easy, breezy nature of beach culture with an air of sophistication and refinement, rendering the most expensive-looking pieces Roxy has probably ever sold.
I can’t wait to see the collection in person at the press event next week but in the meantime, what do you think of the pieces? Will you shop the new collection?

Video Glam: Teen Blogger Tavi Teams Up with Rodarte for Target

Hey Glamazons!!

So I attended the Rodarte for Target preview months ago and I was as thrilled to see the amazing collection as I was to meet Tavi Gevinson, the 13-year old blogger of Style Rookie, who has truly blown the industry away with her intelligence and fashion sense!

Check out her fab video project of the editor preview event (that I attended), the lookbook shoot and the ad campaign shoot below. She also interviewed designers, Kate and Laura Mulleavy, and chatted with celebs like Elijah Woods at the Rodarte runway show.

Fab!!! Here are some images of the MAJOR collection including a sequin dress that is everything!

Sequins, lace and leopard, oh my! Rodarte for Target is perfect for the young, fashion-forward dresser who is a romantic at heart.

The collection ranges from vintage-inspired looks with feminine flourishes, like the charming tulle skirts and swingy dresses lined with lace, to party-ready standouts like the leopard print minis and sequined frocks.

Remember Rodarte for Target is all about layering so have fun piling a knit over a lace cardigan over a leopard-print dress. Take off the knits and cardigans and you have a look that is still fabulous once the temperature rises.

Just in time for Christmas, the Rodarte for Target line hits stores on December 20th and is priced at $10-$80!

What will you add to your wardrobe when the collection hits stores??

Happy Shopping, Glamazons!

Sonia Rykiel pour H&M Launches with Paris Show – In Stores Tomorrow!

Hey Glamazons!

Think the Victoria’s Secret fashion show was the most glamorous lingerie showcase of the season? Think again. Sonia Rykiel for H&M launched with an extravagant display across the pond that gave the Angels a run for their money.

Inspired by Alice and Wonderland, the show was an elaborate presentation of romance and fantasy at the Grand Palais in Paris. Beneath a replica of the Eiffel Tower, models, including Lily Cole (below), posed on luxurious, silk sheets, sat on crystal chandeliers and played on swings atop a stage sprinkled with glitter. Kate Bosworth and fellow French designer, Jean Paul Gaultier (who is doing a line for Target!), came out to show their support.

The lingerie was as glamorous as the backdrop with 50’s pin-up inspired silhouettes and feminine flourishes like jewels and rosettes.

Check out video from the show and red carpet below. What do you think of Sonia Rykiel for H&M’s extravagant show? Will you shop the collection (which starts at $12!) when it hits 1,500 H&M stores and Sonia Rykiel boutiques TOMORROW, December 5th?

NEW!! Cynthia Vincent and Eugenia Kim for Target

Hey Glamazons!

To the delight of frugal shoppers everywhere, Target just announced two designer collaborations, Cynthia Vincent and Eugenia Kim, that will revitalize your accessories’ collection this April. After a number of collaborations including Jean Paul Gaultier and Anna Sui, it’s only right that Target expand to designer shoes and hats, a first for the retailer.

This is doubly exciting as milliner, Eugenia Kim’s hats (as seen on Nicole Richie below) and Cynthia Vincent’s shoes (she’s famous for amazing flats) are delightful but always on the expensive side. I’m eager to see what great patterns and styles they’ll offer up at Target, just in time for Spring. And you know a woman can never have too many accessories.

Recessionistas can shop both collections when they debut in stores and on the web on April 18th. Vincent’s collection will be available until July 1 while Eugenia’s line will be sold until June 20th.

Glamazons, will you shop the Eugenia Kim and Cynthia Vincent for Target collections when it hits stores?

NEW!! Zac Posen’s Affordable Line Z Spoke

Hey Glamazons,

He’s made a name in the fashion industry designing awe-inspiring gowns for the rich and famous, but Zac Posen’s latest venture appeals to the “Lower East Side girl.”
The collection, worthy of Manhattan’s trendy, downtown crowd, is “Z Spoke,” Posen’s new diffusion line for Saks Fifth Avenue. Compared to his eveningwear line which can cost up to $12,000, “Z Spoke” starts at a mere $78 for a t-shirt and can cost up to $675 for a dress, via
A sophisticated line of dresses, separates and sportswear, “Z Spoke” signifies a trendier, more youthful direction for the designer. The significant elements of his design aesthetic, however, remain the same: quality craftmanship, ladylike charm and the perfect, feminine silhouette (no one knows a woman’s body quite like Zac.)
Zac is adamant about differentiating between his diffusion lines and the many high-end collaborations with retail giants launching as of late. “It’s not Zac-for-less, it’s not the little sister collection at all,” Posen told WWD. “The dresses — that’s something I can do with my eyes closed. This is about a new identity.”
This new direction for the designer is sure to be as popular as his collection of gowns, which I saw firsthand at the breathtaking Fall 2009 show (an evening I will never forget!). Check out images from “Z Spoke” below and let me know what you think!
