Fashion Week: BCBG Fall 2010

Hey Glamazons!

Fashion week is off to an amazing start. After hibernating due to Snow-mageddon, I ventured out to the tents for my first show of the season: BCBGMaxAzria. It was so worth the trip. As promised in last week’s teaser, the silhouettes were easy and fluid, with tons of draping, off-the-shoulder necklines and asymmetric hems. The palette was muted with gray and navy blue colors with pops of vivid hues like yellow and blue. Sequin and sheer flourishes offered a youthful, modern touch, infusing some energy into the collection.

Keke Palmer, Michelle Williams and Bryan Boy made for a young, fabulous front row. Both Keke and Michelle told me they were rocking BCBG; Keke wore a bright, printed dress while Michelle gave me rock star in a black ensemble with neon gloves and a fierce, shaggy haircut. Love that Michelle remembered me from The Magazine! What a sweetheart.

Countdown to New York Fashion Week: BCBG, Max Azria and Herve Leger Fall 2010

Praise is due to Max Azria, who effortlessly delivers three distinct, yet awesomely chic and wearable, collections each season. BCBGMaxAzria for the posh, pulled-together fashionista; Max Azria for the sophisticate and Herve Leger for the sexy style siren.

The upcoming Fall 2010 collections promise to expand on those established motifs, presenting an updated twist on each brand’s signature look.

Via InStyle.com, for BCBGMaxAzria, the designer was inspired by a “fusion of extremes,” that I’m sure he expertly blends into a cohesive collection as only he can. The Max Azria collection embodies “minimalism evolved” while Herve Leger will capture “the art of function” in bandage dresses.

While the bandage dress isn’t exactly new (who I am kidding, it’s as consistent in the Herve Leger show as thin, long-legged models and frazzled PR girls), it seems the designer will present a sharper silhouette with exaggerated shoulders and nipped waists—sure to be a favorite among fashion-loving celebs.

I’m a fan of the fluid simplicity of the Max Azria collection. Less is always more when it comes to elegance and beauty in Fashion.

What do you think of the sketches, Glamazons? Which collection are you most looking forward to seeing?

Front Row: BCBGMaxAzria Spring 2010 Collection with Solange, Amerie and Keri Hilson

Hey Glamazons!

Fashion Week is off to a fabulous start. This morning, the Glamazons, along with Keri Hilson, Solange and Amerie, checked out one of the hottest shows at the tents, BCBGMaxAzria. The show’s message? The 80’s is here to stay. Max Azria blew us away this season with his signature bandaged minidress (usually a staple at Herve Leger) with an exuberant, youthful twist. He experimented with eye-popping graphic prints and vibrant brights from hot pink to apple green. The silhouette was slouchy and comfortable as elegant—and super-flattering—draping ruled. Along with sexy bandaged minis, the asymmetric neckline is back for another season but this time, with racy, sheer cut-outs that are sure to turn heads. Mixed in with the electric neons were sophisticated neutrals like wispy white and gorgeous gray. And he even graced us with a few, floor-length fitted dresses with beautiful, show-stopping prints.
Check out some blurry pics of our faves (sorry – the models move fast!):

Here’s the man of the hour at the end of the show. Such a tremendous talent!
And now for the front row! Sexy starlets, Solange, Keri Hilson and Amerie ruled the front row in glam, fashion-forward looks. We had to fight tons of photographers, reporters, camera crews and bloggers just to get to them! Complete mania but Ferocia and I are up for the challenge!

Solange wore a vintage black jacket with ropes strewn across the front and black sweats with a pop of color on the lips. Her haircut is even more stunning in person.

Keri Hilson rocked a gray BCBG tunic, mini and platforms, a spiky silver necklace and her signature, highlighted haircut.
And fashion darling, Amerie, was gorgeous in a green BCBG dress, black Gucci booties and a matching clutch. Love that she remembered me from chatting at the office! She dished that she’s super excited to see “BCBG, Davidelfin, Mara Hoffman and Fashion’s Night Out” tonight. Maybe we’ll see her at the FNO events?

Stay tuned for more. =)
